Roll up your sleeves

What better way to celebrate Earth Day this year than to volunteer for the township's Beautification Day.
Beautification Day is on Saturday, April 22, and volunteers are needed. This is an excellent opportunity for sports teams, scout troops, families and neighborhoods to roll up their sleeves and make the township sparkle. The clean up runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Call David Stires, recycling coordinator, at 973-728-2724, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to register for road assignments. Volunteers will receive supplies, including reflective vests, gloves and trash bags, for the clean up.
Supplies may be picked up at DPW, near the recycling center, during business hours.
Following the clean up, there is a picnic at Bubbling Springs for all who volunteer from noon to 3 p.m. There will be prizes awarded to those who find the most unusual, oldest and most valuable trash found during the clean up.
