Save the date. West Milford Community Health Fair is renamed to honor Chuck Enering

| 22 Jul 2021 | 11:33

Chuck Enering was one of a group of West Milford Lions volunteers who initially worked with the West Milford Department of Health representatives to plan and produce an annual free of charge West Milford Community Health Fair.

This year’s fair is on Saturday Sept. 11 (rain date Sept. 18) at the West Milford Recreation Center (former PAL building) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Chuck won’t be helping this year and the committee already feels the void without him not being around as usual with his early planning help, boundless energy, passion and organizational skills for this effort, along with many other volunteer acts. Chuck died at age 64 on Feb. 23 after fighting a long battle with stomach cancer.

In his memory and honor the event has been renamed the Chuck Enering Memorial Health and Wellness Fair.

This year a larger venue allows the health fair more space to enable a more diverse group of vendors. The addition of “Community Fair” allows local organizations a place to showcase their services to residents.

Residents can attend to receive free of charge tests and consultations with health providers, learn ways toward wellness, meet first responders, eat free healthy snacks, win gift certificates to local restaurants and reward themselves with knowledge about good health.
