WEST MILFORD — Fresh food, colorful flowers, great music. Yup, it's time for the West Milford Farmers' Market.
This is the eighth year for the farmers' market here in West Milford. Opening day is Wednesday, June 1.
This year, the market returns to the West Milford Presbyterian Church parking lot. Organizers are looking forward to another stellar season.
Customers can look forward to some favorite vendors as well as some new ones.
Returning are Jan and Celia from Ideal Farms, Fran's Farmhouse Kitchen, Ross of Pie Eyed Bar Pies, Gladys — the Empanada Lady, Kirk and the crew from Vernon Valley Farm, Bascia from Snoepwinkel Farm, Cindy Lou Designs, RandL Greenhouses, your favorite pickle folks from Picklelicious, Ol' Darlin' Soaps and Salves, and of course, Top of The Mountain Honey Bee Farm.
And there are some new vendors as well.
Peace and Carrots Farm brings more fresh produce using non-certified organic practices, award-winning Cactus Pete's Jerky, Corbett's Cookie Bar Kitchen, Live Love Granola, Gina with ready-to-eat foods from Healthy Thymes Market (specializing in gluten-free, organic and/or vegan), Sunrise Mountain Soaps, and maybe even some additional surprises by opening day.
The new Weis Center will also be on hand to talk about their own opening day celebration.
And of course there is the music. Opening day will feature the extraordinary guitarist John Sheehan.
The market will be open every Wednesday, June through October, from 3 to 7 p.m. rain or shine, at 1452 Union Valley road, West Milford.
The West Milford Farmers' Market is brought to you by Sustainable West Milford, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability in West Milford and its surrounding towns.
