WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Animal Shelter will be holding its annual garage sale on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot.
Donations from the public are now being accepted through June 2. They may be dropped off at two locations in town:
West Milford Animal Shelter, located on Lycosky Drive behind the Recycling Center, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 973-728-2859
Weichert Realtors, located at 1467 Union Valley Road, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 973-728-7775
Items that are not being accepted are clothing, large furniture and large TVs.
The West Milford Animal Shelter is a 100 percent volunteer organization and all funds raised will be used to directly benefit the over 1,000 homeless animals the shelter's volunteers care for every year. All animals up for adoption are spayed or neutered (if over 6 months of age), have all necessary inoculations such as rabies and distemper and have received a medical exam and testing.
The shelter currently has about 100 cats and kittens available for adoption as well as a few dogs. And the adoption fees are the lowest around. Dogs and puppies are $75, cats and kittens are $35. When the shelter has rabbits, the adoption fee is $10.
So when you are doing your spring cleaning, keep the shelter in mind. Help the homeless animals that need new forever homes and families.
The garage sale begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. If it rains, the sale moves to Sunday, June 9.
