'Sweets for Soldiers' a delicious success

The Maple Road School Student Council held it 2nd annual "Sweets for Soldiers" candy drive earlier this month. Under the direction of sixth grade teacher and Student Council Advisor Jennifer Mross and Parent Advisor Melissa Pritchett, the students created posters advertising their first service project of the year and presented collection details to all classes. Through the overwhelming generosity of both students and staff, the group collected more than 250 pounds of candy! The candy will be sent in care packages to West Milford soldiers and the rest will be donated to Operation Jersey Cares.
