WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Animal Shelter is hosting its very first 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, May 5. Some local residents might recall the annual "Heart of the Highlands" race that used to take place during the Autumn Lights Festival. This race will be held on the same certified course. A gently rolling, "out and back" style, this course is great for any level of competition.
You don't run? That's okay. Enjoy a nice 3.1 mile walk. This USA Track and Field sanctioned event is open to all ages. Free race T-shirts will be given for early registrants. A DJ, official timing, post-race refreshments, many great door prizes and an age group award ceremony will take place the day of the event. Come be a part of this special day and support the West Milford Animal Shelter. Registration is available online or through mail-in now through April 25.
