WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Community Against Substance Abuse (C.A.S.A.) urges all residents to participate in the Elk's North District "Walk-Out On Drugs," which will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2012.

The walk will take place at West Milford Town Hall at 10 a.m. Participants will walk the sidewalk in front of town hall, around to the library and back.

After the walk, all are invited back to West Milford Elk's Lodge for free hot dogs and soda. At the Lodge, there will be demonstrations and activities geared to helping children and their parents realize that "choosing not to use" is the way to go.

West Milford school children participated in a poster/essay drug awareness contest. The elks received 250 posters and 527 essays; all will be displayed on the walls at the Elks Lodge. The winners will be announced that afternoon.

Registration for the walk begins at 9 a.m. at the town hall. The suggested donation is $5 per person, with the proceeds going to the Elks Peer Leadership Program.

The Elks Lodge is located at 1860 Union Valley Road. For additional information, call 973-728-2236.
