The giving was plentiful

Walking into Macopin Middle School's cafeteria Monday night, you could smell the aroma of delicious homemade soup. New England Clam Chowder, Creamy Chicken Tortellini, Tomato, Potato and Bacon and French Onion were just some of the choices available - and they were yummy. And while the soup was pull enough, the bigger draw to the event was the cause itself. West Milford High School hosted its fifth annual Empty Bowls fund raiser. More than 100 art students made beautiful, unique bowls that were filled with homemade soup, which was made by 100 plus culinary students. Those in attendance, about 130 people, donated $15 for the soup, bowl and bread. The proceeds are going to help fund the West Milford Presbyterian Church and Our Lady Queen of Peace food pantries right here in West Milford. It was a terrific event and well attended. And a reminder to all that while our bowls may be full, others still struggle with hunger. For more photos from the event, go to westmilfordmessenger.com.
