WEST MILFORD — The Time Bank of West Milford, a program of Sustainable West Milford, is hosting a potluck dinner on Monday, Jan. 28. Join neighbors and Time Bank members to learn more about the Time Bank and how it works.
To live well in a world with shrinking natural resources, we’re going to need to depend not just on family, but on our neighbors, according to a release from the Time Bank of West Milford. Time Banks build strong local communities through an economy of people taking care of each other.
In addition, there will be a special presentation by Celeste Hampton and her 4-H club youngsters. The kids will be sharing “What the 4-H Means to Me,” and Hampton is bringing a very rare species of rabbit to demonstrate the importance of heritage animals, and to raise awareness of the endangered status of many breeds of livestock due to the industrialization of American agriculture.
Whether you’re interested in learning more about the Time Bank, 4-H, heritage livestock, or all three, you won’t want to miss the potluck. Bring a dish or a non-alcoholic beverage to share. The potluck begins at 7 p.m. and is being held in room 17 of the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road in West Milford.
