HEWITT — Saturday was a lovely day for an ice cream. It was even nicer eat it while overlooking Greenwood Lake.
That's what many got to do at the official grand opening of Fox Island Creamery. Mayor Bettina Bieri was on hand for the ribbon cutting with owners Elena Dykstra and Sharon Mines as well as members of their staff.
The creamery not only sells homemade ice cream, but also frozen yogurt, scones, cupcakes, and many other baked goods. There are beverages too.
Fox Island Creamery and Café, located at 1934 Greenwood Lake Turnpike in Hewitt, is open every day from noon to 9 p.m. and can be reached by land and lake. Go to www.foxislandcreamery.com for more information.
