Time to plant the community garden

WEST MILFORD — Do you want to join the township's long-standing community of organic gardeners? Whether you are new to gardening or have been at it your whole life, we'd love to include you. There are a few plots still available for the 2012 growing season in the Organic Community Garden at Apple Acres on Union Valley Road in West Milford. These plots go on a first come, first serve basis, so if you want to join this year, please contact Eddie Bower, the group's garden director by phone or email to reserve your spot.

Now in its fifth season, this all organic educational garden enables family members to have a hands-on educational experience while growing their own healthful food and flowers. In addition to individual plots, several community-wide sections will be supported by garden members from seed to harvest and all members will share in the bounty.

Mark your calendar for this year’s sign-up and orientation, taking place on Wednesday, March 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road, in room 10.
