Township partners with AARP for driver safety program

WEST MILFORD — West Milford Community Services and Recreation, in conjunction with AARP is sponsoring a driver safety program for seniors on Wednesday,

June 20, 2012. The class will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.

The course helps drivers refine existing skills and develop safe, defensive driving techniques. There are no tests and no behind the wheel activity.

Upon completing the class, participants will be eligible to receive a state-mandated, three-year discount on their auto insurance. Call your insurance company to find out the amount of the discount.

Participants may also be eligible to recover two points on their driving record. Call the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Department at 609-292-7500 to confirm the status of your record.

The program will be held at the Hillcrest Community Center, room 10, 1810 Macopin Road, West Milford. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non members. Members must have their AARP card with them when they register. The deadline for registration is June 13. Call Gail Kahler at 973-728-2871 to register.
