The interior of the building that will soon be a Tractor Supply store at the West Milford Shopping Plaza in Hewitt has been completely gutted. This is the site of the former Sears store.
On Aug. 24, workmen with use of a crane, removed an old air conditioner from a roof in the building complex and carted it away.
As preparation of the new store continues, a November opening has been targeted. This will be an anchor store in the shopping center where the former A&P store remains vacant.
The new store will be one of an American chain of stores that offer products for home improvement, agriculture, lawn and garden maintenance and livestock, equine and pet care.
A leading US retailer, the company’s headquarters are based in Brentwood, Tenn. The firm founded a mail order tractor parts business in 1938. The first retail store followed in Minot North Dakota in 1939.
In 2004, the company reported revenue of 1.7 billion. As of March 31, 2018, the company operated 700 stores in 49 states.
