Warwick Historical Society sets Wassail Party for Dec. 15
WARWICK: The public is invited to come a-wassailing at the Buckbee Center and keep a tradition going.
Warwick. The Warwick Historical Society will hold its annual Wassail Party from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at the A.W. Buckbee Center, 2 Colonial Ave., Warwick.
Appetizers, holiday treats, wine and eggnog will be served along with the traditional wassail, an alcoholic beverage from medieval times consumed to ensure a good harvest in the coming year.
The Warwick Valley High School's Meister Singers will perform at 6 p.m.
The party is set against the backdrop of the newest exhibit, "Holidays From Yesterday," a look at how people have played through winter and celebrated the holidays.
Attendees will see the dress and games from the 1800s, holiday cards, toys, decorations and a table depicting a special feast.
Tickets are $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers and at the door.
