West Milford kids score big at Passaic County Film Festival

First and second place winners in the High School Documentary Short Film category are from West Milford.
Frank Lagana of West Milford High School received first place in the High School Documentary Short Film category for “The Risk of Life.”
Matt Romano of Oak Ridge, a student at Passaic County Technical Institute, received second place in the High School Documentary Short Film category for “The Forge: A Jewel in the Highlands.”
More than 100 films were submitted to the Passaic County Film Festival in April, and 175 people attended the festival.
The event took place at the Fabian Theater 8 at Center City Mall, in Paterson.
The objective of the Passaic County Film Festival is to support students and independent film makers by providing a public forum in which to showcase their films.
The film festival is sponsored by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders with additional financial support from the Passaic County Cultural and Heritage Council at Passaic County Community College, through a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, North Jersey Federal Credit Union, Bascom Corporation, Ross International and the Passaic County Community College Foundation.
