WEST MILFORD - The New Jersey Department of Education in December named West Milford Township Public School’s Apshawa Elementary School Principal Stephanie Primavera as a Distinguished Elementary Educator.
In his Jan. 9 “Superintendent’s Blog”, West Milford Superintendent Dr Alex Anemone announced the award, congratulated Primavera for earning it, and wrote: “This prestigious award is given out to a select few individuals in the entire State.”
Primavera was to be honored at the Jan. 29 Board of Education Meeting, but the meeting was cancelled due to weather conditions.
“I am so very honored to be named a 2018 Exemplary Educator by the New Jersey Department of Education,” Primavera said in a statement. “Each and every day I lead my school community with the best interest of my students. I am very lucky to have a supportive faculty who are passionate about education and dedicated to children. I have amazing colleagues who I have learned so much from. I am thankful for the support and encouragement I receive from Dr. Anemone, Mr. Novak, Dr. McQuaid and Mrs. Francisco. I am honored to be recognized by the West Milford Board of Education. I am growing and learning every day and I'm humbled that I get to do that in my hometown. Both growing as an educator and being a community member of West Milford is a privilege.”
The Apshawa School Principal will be recognized for her accomplishment at a BOE meeting date in the near future.
