West Milford's Easter parade

WEST MILFORD — It is an Easter tradition in West Milford, the annual Easter/Spring Celebration, sponsored by the West Milford Community Services and Recreation Department. Kids wear their most creative bonnets and hats - some are real standouts - and parade around the Hillcrest Community Center. The hats are judged and the top three are awarded trophies. There are always cute baby chicks, spring flowers and colorful eggs represented on the bonnets, but it's not always frills that bring home all of the prizes. Four-year-old Gavin Hensley was the only young man entered in the contest. He had a rugged hard-hat style bonnet that took home second place. Don't worry, though, there was plenty of spring finery to wow the judges.

Eighteen-month-old Claire Dolisi is pictured in her bonnet on page 1. To see more photos from the event, go to westmilfordmessenger.com.
