Zoom. Virtual winter workshops hosted by Cornell Cooperative

| 05 Jan 2021 | 03:23

Learn something new and shake off your cabin fever with two Zoom programs hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County.

Backyard Maple Syrup will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Shiitake Mushroom Cultivation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Both workshops will be led by Master Gardener Joe Gregoire. Joe and his wife have a small farm in Westtown, started in 2016, where they grow hops for local breweries, mushrooms for local restaurants and produce maple syrup for family and friends.

During this difficult time, pricing is available on a sliding scale for both programs. There is a suggested fee of $10 per participant, $20 to sponsor yourself and another participant in need, or a $0 COVID-19 solidarity pricing for those impacted by the pandemic.

Gardening subscribers receive a discounted price of $8.To register or for more information, visit at cceorangecounty.org/events or call Susan D’Egidio at 845-344-1234 Ext. 240.
