West Milford High School senior Shannan Fitzgerald signed an NAIA Letter of Intent for Notre Dame College on Monday, June 19, to participate in the sport of swimming beginning with the inaugural season during the 2006-07 academic year. Fitzgerald has been swimming for 12 years. In high school, she competed in the butterfly and freestyle. She was a member of the U.S. Sectional Team, the Senior Metropolitan Team and the Metropolitan Region Junior Olympics. “I chose Notre Dame for financial reasons, the campus and because of Coach Gallagher,” said Fitzgerald. She plans to major in education.
