WEST MILFORD A few months ago, the West Milford Animal Shelter only had two dogs available for adoption. Last week there were nine dogs, this week there are seven. One of those seven is Maxine. Maxine is a 3-year-old spayed female German Shepherd. She is very friendly with a happy and sunny disposition. She loves to meet and greet new people, but does not over react or jump up and settles down quickly once she has had a chance to say “hello.” Maxine is a medium-sized dog with a lot of energy and a zest for life. She loves attention, the company of people and most other dogs but not cats. Like most German Shepherds, Maxine has a problem with hip dysplasia and her condition may require surgery at some point in her life. But this has not affected her physically or mentally and, according to shelter workers, “she looks and feels marvelous!” For more information on Maxine or other pets available for adoption, call 973-728-2859.
