WEST MILFORD On Nov. 16 at 7:16 a.m. the West Milford Police Department received a call of a motor vehicle collision involving a truck and a motorcycle. The collision occurred at the intersection of Warwick Turnpike and Lakeshore Drive in front of the Utopia Deli. P.O. Pittelko was the first officer on the scene. Initial investigation revealed that a 2002 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Theodore Vonderhorst (44) of Hewitt was traveling north on Warwick Turnpike. A 2003 Isuzu truck operated by Scott Roosa (32) of Hewitt was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Warwick Turnpike from Lakeshore Drive. The Isuzu turned onto Warwick Turnpike and struck the motorcycle. After striking the truck, Vonderhorst was ejected from his motorcycle and struck a vehicle that was stopped at the exit of the Utopia Deli. The stopped vehicle was a 2000 Chevy pickup operated by Philip Barbaris (28) of Hewitt. UGLFAS # 55 and ALS #901 transported Vonderhorst to Good Samaritan’s Hospital in Suffern New York. Vonderhorst was listed in critical condition at time of this release. No further update is available at this time The collision is currently under investigation by the West Milford Collision Unit and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
