Wawayanda — Moms are turning their strollers into a portable fitness machine and enjoying an outdoor workout while their babies have a fun and interactive ride in the stroller. Stroller Muscle, a new interactive fitness class by FIT Beginnings, L.L.C. at Wawayanda State Park, combines work and fun for moms and their stroller-age children. Women can get an aerobic workout with strength resistance training, while their children are engaged through songs and activity. Stroller Muscle is led by Debra Redding, owner/instructor of FIT Beginnings, L.L.C. “As the mother of two small babies, I can see why moms love this class. The children have a terrific time while mom gets an amazing workout,” said Redding. “The babies are engaged throughout the class which includes exercises such as Little Piggie Lunges, Tag-a-Tot and Peek a Boo Spins.” Corinna Ledford participates in Stroller Muscle with her 11-month-old daughter, Sasha. “We love the class,” said Ledford. “All of the exercises are turned into a game for the babies. We both have a great time and I get a terrific workout! The best part about all of the classes offered by FIT Beginnings is that I am able to be with my daughter.” With sunscreen on and water bottle in hand, moms and their babies can get a refreshing and invigorating outdoor experience.
