Ceazonia Dyer, Ellen Hetzel and Deb Manfredonio, Ringwood Garden Club members, attended the district meeting of the Garden Club of New Jersey held at the Wildlife Center in Wycoff. The main speaker, Patricia Grossi, board member of the state, regional and national garden clubs, explained the inner workings of the various levels of garden clubs. She reported that Ringwood Garden Club’s main focus this year is to assist Skylands Volunteer Association in the plantings at the botanical gardens and decorating Skylands Manor for the Holiday Open House held annually the first weekend in December. Since the State of New Jersey has cut back funding for the parks, the botanical gardens need all the volunteer help it can get. Renate Gudat and Barbara Sanford, club members, brought their horticulture therapy program to Van Dyk Assisted Living Facility in West Milford. About 30 residents attended and made spring arrangements.
