WEST MILFORD — For the second year in a row, Boy Scout Troop 146 held its now-annual cardboard boat race on June 29. The boys have to construct a boat using cardboard, duct tape and caulk. The racers start at the Upper Greenwood Lake boat launch and have to be able to row their boats around a designated track and back to the launch without sinking. The boat race is the brainchild of Scoutmaster Rick Buchtman, who saw something similar on the West Coast. They have already proven so popular that other local groups have expressed interest in being involved.
