Paradise Knoll bands, chorus perform in spring concert

West Milford — Paradise Knoll Elementary School in Oak Ridge had their annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, June 1. Fifth and Sixth graders of the Elementary Beginners Band, Elementary Advanced Band and the Paradise Knoll fifth and sixth grade Chorus put on a show for the school in the afternoon and then for parents in the evening. The bands are directed by Christine Paterno, and the chorus by Jan Sivertsen. Band selections included “Trumpets Royale,” “Simple Gifts,” “When the Band Goes Marching in,” “Joyful, Joyful,” “The Grand Old Flag,” and “Jazzy Brown Jug.” Chorus selections included “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “It’s All Good,” featuring a solo by sixth grader Blaise, “Tomorrow Needs Us,” “Firework” sung by sixth graders Kaitlyn K, Liza, Lauren, Brooke, and Katelyn S, the entertaining dance number “Move, Move, Move,” “Waka, Waka,” which was the official song of the 2010 World Cup, and another solo section in African sung by fifth graders Kathryn and Kailee. 4.bmp 5th grade chorus-boys and 6th grade.BMP 5.bmp 5th grade chorus-girls.BMP 6.bmp 5th grade girls Move move move.BMP 7.bmp 5th Grader Jillian on Piano. 5th Grader Jillian accompanied the band in two songs on the piano as well as playing her part in the band on the French horn for other songs.
