Passaic County satellite office opens in Wanaque

    WANAQUE — Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders is pleased to announce the opening of a satellite county office at 1237 Ringwood Avenue in the Haskell Section of Wanaque Borough. The new facility will provide services to up-county residents including the offices of Passaic County Board of Social Services, One-Stop Career Center, and Passaic County Clerk. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Passaic County Board of Social Services provides access to a full range of its financial and non-financial social services to the community including but not limited to the following: Financial programs: Families with children (TANF) and to adults without children (GA) Program, food stamp and Medicaid programs, homelessness assistance for both temporary and permanent housing. Non-financial social services: Child support services to establish court-ordered child support, paternity testing, and collection of arrears on existing support orders; seniors and disabled residents services that include protection of vulnerable adults being exploited or abused, rooming/boarding house placements and select services to the visually impaired; job search and vocational and educational training services to unemployed public assistance clients. Passaic County One-Stop Career Center offers free services for unemployed and underemployed job seekers to help develop skills needed to succeed in the workforce. Certified career and employment counselors can explore career choices and assist with obtaining employment and vocational training such as educational training programs in occupational and trade schools, on-the-job training with local employers and apprenticeships in many fields. The One-Stop Career Center also offers Job Search Readiness Workshops which provide information on how to successfully look for a job, conduct an interview, write a resume or learn about the local labor market. The Job Seeker’s Resource Room can be used for self-directed job search to post resumes and explore a nationwide database of job openings. Passaic County Clerk will be providing a variety of services on-site for easy access to up-county residents including processing passport applications and notary applications, administering oaths of office and notary renewal oaths. The office will also file trade name certificates. The Registry Division of the Clerk’s office will receive and record deed and mortgage documents and any other documents pertaining to property transactions. The office will also accept applications for mail in ballots for any election.
