Pear Tree brings on the buzz with The Espresso Event

    WARWICK — The Pear Tree is bringing a touch of SoHo to Railroad Avenue on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2:30-5 p.m. with The Espresso Event in celebration of the store’s introduction of the world-renowned FrancisFrancis! espresso machines and Illy Caffe. “We are so excited about bringing FrancisFrancis! and Illy to Warwick,” said Marie Kosen, owner. “I can’t wait to share with my customers the art of making and enjoying espresso.” Silvia Beam from Illy Caffe in New York will be on hand to demonstrate how to make the perfect cup of espresso, using the limited edition Illy Caffe Artist Espresso Cups series and Illy sugar sticks. Customers purchasing a machine or coffee will receive an Illy booklet complete with espresso recipes, as well as an exclusive Pear Tree “Espresso Delectables” booklet featuring favorite Italian biscotti recipes from The Catering House of Edward Fava. The delectable delights from Ed Fava will be served along with espresso, coffee and mini cappuccinos, while Italian music in the background will lend a touch of Italy to the afternoon. The Pear Tree is offering the sleek FrancisFrancis X-1 and FrancisFrancis X-3 espresso machines in red, black, silver or blue, as well as Illy pods and ground Illy coffees. Marie has also secured sets of the Illy espresso cups created by the Who’s Who of the art world for those who want the complete Illy espresso experience. The name Illy is synonymous with the finest coffee and espresso machines in the world. Founder Francesco Illy developed the first espresso machine, and the company holds 17 patents in the processing and preparation of coffee. Illy recently launched Galleria Illy, a sophisticated coffee shop and Illy showcase complete with special seminars and art exhibits, located in Manhattan’s SoHo district.
