The New Jersey Department of Personnel has announced their 2006 municipal police officer examination. The West Milford Township Police Department is looking for qualified, dedicated and motivated individuals to join the ranks of their professional and career oriented agency. Applicants must be residents of the township as of March 31 and maintain that residency up to and including the date of appointment. Applicants must be a high school or vocational high school graduate or possess an approved high school equivalent certificate. Applicants must be 18 years of age as of March 31, but not over the age of 35, unless eligible for an exception. (See Application) Appointees are required to possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license. Appointees must pass medical, psychological and drug screening examinations. Appointees will be required to complete a 24 week training program at a New Jersey Police Training Commission approved academy, then participate in a 12 week field training program.
