Hewitt Postmaster John Ehret is announcing that the Hewitt Post Office at 1926 Union Valley Rd will be promoting the Military Phone Card For Family Promotion. The program will run from May 1 until June 30. “I know that many people have family and friends overseas now and this program is designed to help keep them in touch with their families,” said Postmaster Ehret. “Giving these brave men and women an opportunity to connect with their loved ones is important and keeps the morale up for our troops while so far away from home. That is why we are running this program. Now a customer can purchase a global phone card at their local Post Office and donate it to a soldier about to be deployed so they may keep in touch with their family.” The donation of the card is also tax deductible. Phone cards will be go to the Ft. Dix Deployment office, which will pass them on to soldiers about to be sent overseas. Postal officials are also reminding consumers that they can purchase stamps, get mailing information, and even print mailing labels with or without postage online 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at the postal website at www.usps.com.
