WEST MILFORD A rally to fight against the “purple blotches” on the Highlands Regional Master plan, which would allow for high density redevelopment within the Highlands Act area, was cancelled due to weather. Public comment was to be accepted up until April 2. However at a meeting this past Thursday, it was expected that the council would extend the public comment period until May 11. That meeting took place after the Messenger went to press. The results will be published next week. Assuming the council extends the date for comment, the rally is tentatively scheduled for May 5. Opponents of the purple zones are hoping to have former DEP Commissioner Bradley Campbell, Ella Fillapone and Senator Robert Martin be among the dignitaries to speak.
