The fourth and fifth grade students at St. Joseph School received Mardi Gras necklaces this week from the Environmental Protection Agency command post workers in New Orleans. It was the command post’s way of thanking the students for the recent Halloween gift package they sent. Procurement Specialist Yolanda Lamela from the Environmental Protection Agency sent a note of thanks to the children along with the beads that read, “These beads were given to me at the Louisiana Technical College for the children of St. Joseph School who were so kind to send us lovely cards inspiring us on the Katrina effort response. While we all enjoyed the Halloween candy, we especially appreciated the notes.”
