WEST MILFORD — Summer Roller Hockey in West Milford, the original roller hockey in the area, is coming back for its 15th season and this year promises to be better than ever. The West Milford Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to offer West Milford’s own brand of the fastest growing recreational sport for all kids aged 7 to 17. The program is held in a regulation sized rink at the Hillcrest Community Center on Macopin Road starting in mid June and continuing through late August. The excitement and energy that is hockey is captured in a safe, non-checking league divided into three divisions, Majors for 9 -11 year olds, Juniors for 12-14 year-olds and seniors for 15-17 year-olds. A limited number of 7- and 8- year-olds are also accepted. All games are approximately one hour in length and are played on weekday evenings. Players of all talent levels and their parents can enjoy the action of real hockey without getting up at 5 a.m. and driving 45 minutes to a far away rink. Registration forms are available at the West Milford Parks and Recreation office located in Hillcrest Community Center and they are also available online at www.westmilford.drg. The cost for regular season play is $80 per player, which includes a practice hockey jersey. For additional information 973-728-2860.
