PATERSON United Way of Passaic County has announced a call for applications to the Vincent D. Pavese Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Passaic County high school senior who has exhibited a commitment to community service and plans to pursue a career in public service such as government, social work, health care, etc. This $1,500 scholarship will be presented at the United Way of Passaic County 2006 Annual Meeting on June 7, 2006. Scholarship applicants must plan to attend an accredited college or university upon graduation from high school. Eligible applicants must also qualify for financial aid and plan to pursue a career in public service (government, social work, education, recreation, public health and welfare, law enforcement, etc.) To obtain an application, call 973-279-8900.
