Vernon - Sophomore Amieé deNeuf of Vernon posted the best effort of her young career, finishing fourth in the individual standings, as the New Jersey City University women’s bowling team won its fourth tournament championship in the last four years, claiming the title at the 2005 Nittany Lion Kegler Classic. The event was hosted by Penn State University on Nov. 12-13. NJCU dominated the team standings, finishing with a total pinfall of 8250, a margin of 528 pins better than second-place Shippensburg University. The tournament format was six five-person total pinfall team games, and 16 Baker games. Additionally, in the only NCAA dual match of the event, NJCU defeated intra-city rival Saint Peter’s College for the second consecutive week, 890-832, to improve to 10-3 overall this season in the NCAA standings. DeNeuf, the only lefty on the squad, was right at the top of the leaderboard, tallying a six-game pinfall of 1,111, including a high game of 203, for a 185.17 average. She was just seven pins shy of second place.
