    Lenape 10, Sparta 4 Lenape Valley, fueled by homers off the bats of Mike Chernesky, Dean Conklin and A.J. Kaskie, toppled Sparta 10-4 in an SCIL baseball game on Wednesday in Sparta. Pat Groome went 3 for 3 including a three-bagger as he scored once and knocked in a run while Matt Gailums had a double. Rob Klinck scattered seven singles as he picked up the “W” in gaining his first decision of the season. Jefferson 4, Newton 0 Matt Kern starred on the mound and at the plate as Jefferson blanked Newton 4-0 on Wednesday. Kern, named the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week, pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, fanning eight and walking no one while going 2 for 3 with the bat, including a double. His teammate Mike Nimmo doubled in a run. Kittatinny 20, Hopatcong 7 Jeff Kistle went 4 for 4, going deep with his third homer of the season in knocking in three runs as Kittatinny trounced Hopatcong 20-7. Chris Calderalla, Kevin Green, Teddy Wetkow and Derek Wilpert blasted round-trippers with Wilpert picking up the victory after dropping his first two decisions of the campaign. PJ 3, High Point 1 Mike Ham went the distance, allowing four hits and fanning six as Pope John defeated High Point 3-1. Bobby Guild went deep for the Lions with Brent Anderson and Rob Harclerove picking up RBIs. Sparta 10, Roxbury 0 On Tuesday, Sparta routed Roxbury 10-0 in a non-league contest as Andrew Passarelle went 4 for 4. He blasted a solo homer and doubled in three runs while Sean Horan homered and singled for the Spartans.
