    Newton 57, Lenape 39 Dan Ehehalt turned in a double-double effort in powering Newton to 57-39 victory over Lenape Valley in an SCIL boys’ basketball game played in Stanhope. Ehehalt, who was chosen the Newton Athlete of the Week, netted a team-high 17 points with 11 coming in the first 16 minutes when the Braves surged to a 27-13 lead by the halftime break. He grabbed a dozen rebounds to complete his double-double. LVR’s Keith Flaherty pumped a game-high 19 points through the iron. Hopatcong 51, Wallkill 48 Hopatcong edged Wallkill Valley 51-48 in overtime as Ian Evans hit 11 of his game-high 25 points in the OT period and was selected the Hopatcong Athlete of the Week. His teammate, Mike Tobin, chipped in with 15 points, while the Rangers were led by Mike Hern who tossed 23 points into the basket. Sparta 57, PJ 52 Sparta pulled out a 57-52 triumph over Pope John as Chris McCann gunned a game-high 29 points through the cords, including six three-pointers. McCann was named the SCIL/Richards and Summers Player of the Week. Kenny McFarlane added 10 points while Sam Mushman tallied 17 points for the Lions. Jefferson 74, High Point 69 Jefferson toppled High Point 74-69, as B.J. Stokes scored a game-high 30-points. Teammate Jay Kabshura added 16 points as the Falcons upped their first-place record to 8-1. Eric Caton popped 27 points into the basket for High Point. Vernon 68, Kittatinny 58 Vernon rallied from a 31-27 deficit at the intermission to pull away to a 68-58 win over Kittatinny. Charles Drinkard netted a game-high 21 points, including nine in the third quarter that fueled a 21-12 run by the Vikings. Rich Fazio chipped in with 15 points, while Josh Reed topped the Cougars with a 19-point effort. Manville 72, Sussex Tech 52 Ryan Trotta posted a double-double, but Sussex Tech dropped a 72-52 verdict to Manville in a non-league encounter. Trotta finished with 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
