    Jefferson 8, Warwick 4 Alex Riley scored a hat trick to propel Jefferson to an 8-4 triumph over Warwick, N.Y. in a boys’ lacrosse match played Thursday in Jefferson. Riley netted three goals and distributed an assist as the Falcons upped their overall record to 3-1. Dan Combos chipped in with two goals and an assist while Mark McConnell, Ryan Mullins and Kevin Murphy tallied goals. Adam Koontz was credited with four assists while McConnell dished off one. Goalie Ned Marini came up with five saves. Sparta 11, Jefferson 4 Two days earlier, Ari Young netted five goals as Sparta defeated Jefferson 11-4. His teammate Nik Heckman contributed two goals and four assists as Sparta remained unbeaten at 4-0 in handing the Falcons their first setback of the season. Kevin Echemendla, Vinny Fiorentino, Steve Mattera and Tyler Steinetz scored for the Spartans with Fiorentino and Ryan Matthes dishing off two assists apiece. Rob Warncke scored twice the Falcons with Riley chipping in with a goal and assist. Vernon 15, Mt. Olive 0 Vic DeMaio scored four times to highlight Vernon’s 15-0 rout of Mount Olive after leading 11 at the intermission. C.J. Flar netted three goals and dished off a pair of assists while Mike Deutch and Rob Glander each tallied two goals and were credited with solo assists. Dan Colvin, Dan Rawson, Anthony Selimo and Kyle Werner contributed goals to the scoring parade with Anthony Cwirko, Adam Rebisz and Selimo picking up two assists each. Kinnelon 13, PJ 2 Travis Barrett and Matt Johannes netted goals for Pope John in the Lions’ 13-2 loss to Kinnelon with Johannes picking up an assist.
