    Sparta 1, Pope John 0 Sparta 4, Kittatinny 0 Sparta posted two more shutout victories in beating Pope John (1-0) and Kittatinny (4-0) as Tommy McCormick was chosen the sussexcountyinterscholasticleague.com/Eastern Propane Player of the Week. McCormick netted the only goal against the Lions when he scored off a corner kick from Nic Heckman and scored twice in the win over the Cougars, including the game-winning tally 17 minutes into the game. Goalie Greg Miller recorded three saves against Pope John and four in the clash with Kittatinny as Sparta remained unbeaten at 7-0-2. Rafael Millan and Kyle Behrendt scored against the Cougars with Rob Arena, Behrendt and Mark Huelsenbeck picking up assists. Lenape 3, Jefferson 1 Lenape Valley scored three times in the first half and went on to defeat Jefferson 3-1. Anthony Mainero opened the scoring 14 minutes into the game with an assist from Tim Bahnsen. Jeremy Pizarro made it 2-0 with eight minutes left before intermission with Mainero picking up an assist. Less than three minutes later, Jhourman Atehortua upped the margin to three goals. Keeper Justine Cirone came up with four saves. Newton 1, Hopatcong 0 Brian Kedash headed in the game-winner as Newton squeaked out a 1-0 win over Hopatcong when he converted a gross from Dan Fullmer 13 minutes into the second half. Keeper Phil Spence recorded the shutout by stopping six shots on goal. High Point 2, Wallkill 1 High Point edged Wallkill Valley 2-1 as Frank Mobilio tallied the game-winning goal off an assist from Drew Styer 17 minutes into the second half. Gio Rivera put the Rangers on the board first in the opening half before Shane Bosma tied the contest with an unassisted goal seven minutes later.
