Catch up with West Milford athletes

— As a senior forward on the William Paterson University field hockey team this season, Jessica Nendze, a graduate of West Milford High School, started in each of the first nine games of the regular season. Nendze had five goals and was tied for the team lead with four assists up to that point. Nendze is listed as a major in exercise science and athletic training.

Let’s take a glance at how other graduates of West Milford High School are faring in collegiate sports this fall season. This is the first installation in the series:

Sam Koropchak is a junior on the roster of the Stockton College women’s tennis program this season. In matches contested through Sept. 26, Koropchak had an 8-1 record in singles competition. In doubles competition through Sept. 26, she had an overall mark of 6-2.

After nine matches, the Ospreys had an overall team record of 7-2, including a 4-1 record on their home court. On Oct. 5, Stockton has a road match scheduled at Ramapo College.

Edwin Lara is on the roster as a sophomore wide receiver for the Fairleigh Dickinson University (Florham campus) football program this fall. Through two games of the regular season, Lara had six receptions for 40 yards.

Sam Browne is listed as a sophomore midfielder for the Rowan University field hockey team this year. Through Sept. 24, Browne competed in six games for Rowan. The Profs had an overall record of 3-4 in games played through Sept. 24.

Maura Dunlop is on the roster as a freshman forward for the Ramapo College field hockey team this year. Dunlop played in each of the first eight games of the regular season and started in five of them for the Roadrunners.

Lucas Lamb is a junior for the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) men’s cross country squad this season. Lamb is listed as an applied physics major with a concentration on optics.

Tyler Mauer is on the roster as a sophomore quarterback for the Kean University football team this year. Through September, the Cougars had an overall record of 1-2.
