Celtics win PAL basketball championship

The celtics lead from the beginning of the championship game, making good passes to their big man under the hoop.

WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Police Athletic League’s (WMPAL) Co-Ed Recreational Basketball Program wrapped up the fall season on Saturday, Nov. 2.

For the Majors Division (grades 3 through 6) the Celtics, under Coach Ken Christie, dominated the season with a record of 8 - 1 . Their one loss came against Team Heat, coached by Peter Albar, with a similarly impressive record of 7 - 2.

After winning two playoff games against the Lakers and the Nets, Coached by Monti Dellapi and John Parkyn respectively, the Celtics and the Heat teams faced off in the championship.

Despite a valiant effort and great teamwork by the Heat, the Celtics seemed to play effortlessly and came out on top, sinking nearly every shot they attempted through the hoop. The final score was 38-17.

The WMPAL Kicks off its Winter Basketball season the third week of November.
