Pope John’s Lara Heigis completed her scholastic cross-country career with a fifth place finish in the NJSIAA Meet of Champions contested at Holmdel Park in Monmouth County on Saturday morning. Heigis completed the challenging 3.1-mile course, charging uphill to cross the line in 18:27 as she paced the Lions to a fifth place team finish with 168 points, one point behind fourth place Roxbury and nine in back of third place Red Bank Catholic.
