    Rangers advance to sectional final Wallkill 5, Demarest 2 Amanda Nann dominated the action as Walkill Valley toppled Northern Valley/Demarest 5-2 in the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group II girls’ field hockey tournament. Nann netted four goals as the Rangers boosted their sparkling record to 14-2 and clash with Pequannock on Monday (November 6) for the sectional title. Senior Nicole Travolta put the Rangers on the board five minutes into the game only to have the Norsewomen of the North Bergen Interscholastic Athletic League knot the score two minutes later. Nann netted two goals to give Wallkill Valley a 3-1 lead at the halftime break and added a pair of second-half goals, raising her season total to 33. Kara Buda, Jami Gagg, Lauren Sweller and Travolta dished off assists while goalkeeper Samantha Nann stopped 11 official shots. Morristown 4, High Point 0 High Point was defeated in the North Jersey, Group III championship game by Morristown on Saturday when the Colonials rolled to a 4-0 victory. Keeper Lauren Fasano made 11 saves. The Wildcats had advanced to the title round by edging Mount Olive 2-1 on Wednesday. Jess Grimm and Becky Penhacker netted first half goals with Kaiti Robertazzi dishing off assists on both scores. Kittatinny 3, PJ 1 Kittatinny defeated Pope John 3-1 in a SCIL encounter on Wednesday as goalie Kelly McCaskill came up with six saves. Grace Esposito, Maxine Mitjans and Alex Polizzo scored for the Cougars with Lauren Nicomini dishing off two assists.
