    Byram - In minor league play, the Elite Auto Riverdogs (6-1) beat the Sidoti Dental Mud Cats (3-4), 15-9, behind the six-hit pitching of Frank Cutrone and Chris Sclafani. Cutrone and Sclafani also combined for five RBI on offense, along with Ryan Peach and Jesse Rode, who knocked in three each. The Mud Cats were led by Alex Kalemba with two hits and three RBI. The Elite Auto Riverdogs edged the Frogmore Blue Claws, 9-8, with a come-from-behind victory in the bottom of the sixth. Robert Lindsey’s hard hit scored Joe Curran with the winning run for the Riverdogs. Patrick Togno struck out four Blue Claws in two innings of middle relief for the Riverdogs. The Blue Claws were led by Jacob Quasius, who had two hits and three RBI. Pitcher Evan Cartwright fanned six. The Dairy Queen Thunder (1-6) had two games in week five end on the final play. DQ beat the K&N Sporting Goods Storm, 9-8, behind the pitching of Jeremy Nowling, Matt McDonough, Jonathan Figiel and Sam Delagrange. The Thunder also staged a late rally against the Sussex PBA 136 Threshers after falling behind, 8-2. Justin Natiello and Sam Delagrange each had two home runs each. Matt McDonough struck out nine batters in three innings of work to keep the Threshers from scoring. However, after the Thunder took the lead in the top of the sixth, the Threshers struck back to win on the last play of the game. In major league play, the Panther Lake Mets fell to the Hopatcong Marlins, 9-8, after a sixth-inning rally fell short. Greg Walker struck out six batters over four innings. Kevin O’Brien had two safeties for the Mets. The Columbia Valley Campground Cardinals fell to the Lackawanna Dodgers, 12-2, and the Tomahawk Lake Dodgers of Hobb Engler defeated the Lackawanna Reds, 4-2, in a rain-shortened schedule last week.
