    Vernon 34, Irvington 32 Vernon finished fifth in the same tournament when the Lady Vikings edged Irvington 34-32 in the consolation round as Courtney Megna netted a game-high dozen points. Colette Lortz was named to the All-Tournament team. Vernon toppled Leonia 41-34 in the consolation bracket on Thursday as Megna scored 14 points and Chelsea Schmidt popped eight into the basket. Sussex Tech 44, Piscataway 29 Sussex Tech romped to a 44-29 victory over Piscataway Tech to capture the first place plaque in the East Brunswick Christmas Tournament on Saturday. Jackie Banford tallied a game-high 22 points with Sarah Mieback popping 13 into the bucket and Kayla DeGrawn netting 10. In the semifinals, Sarah Metzger pumped a game-high 10 points through the iron as the Lady Mustangs rolled to a 31-18 victory over Warren Tech. Newark Tech fell to the Lady Mustangs 39-36 in overtime of the first round meeting as Branford scored 13 points and DeGraw chipped in with a dozen. Ridge 50, High Point 41 High Point dropped a 50-41 verdict to Ridge in the consolation third place game of the Ridge Holiday Tournament after losing to Mendham in the opening round. Nicole Armstrong led the Wildcats, netting 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Kerry Cresbough turned in a double-double effort, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds as Sparta trampled Asbury Park 67-18 in the Plainfield Holiday Tournament. Rafaela Bonaventre tallied a game-high 11 points.
