    Vernon 14, Sparta 5 Linda Bohn keyed the attack when Vernon burst out to a 12-1 lead by the halftime break in defeating Sparta 14-5 in the opening game of the SCIL girls’ lacrosse campaign on Tuesday. Bohn netted six goals and dished off an assist as she was chosen the SCIL Player of the Week. Amanda Matos tallied two goals and distributed a pair of assists. Nicole Kalinski added two goals, with Amy Buffalino Jess Hegner, Silje Karlseun and Stephanie Messina completing the scoring parade. Sparta 8, Pope 7 Sparta rebounded to edged Pope John 8-7 as Danielle Jacobs, who tallied two goals against Vernon, followed with a two goal and two assist performance. Pope John’s attack was dominated by Lauren Cartier who netted five goals and dished off an assist.
