Byram - In minor league play, the Elite Automotive Riverdogs (7-1) edged the K & N Sporting Goods Storm, 8-7. The Riverdogs were led by Robert Lindsey, with three hits and three RBI, along with Shaun Tatka, who knocked in two runs. Danny Rafferty and Justin Faschan had two RBI each for the Storm. The Dairy Queen Thunder came back from an 8-3 deficit to tie the Sidoti Dental Mud Cats in the final inning, highlighted by Matt McDonough’s grand slam home run. Tyler Rogers and Kevin Fernley starred for the Mud Cats in the field and at the plate. The Thunder next upset the first-place Elite Automotive River Dogs, 9-7. Ryan Chozick, who took the win in relief, and Matt McDonough had 14 consecutive strikeouts over two outings. Adam Varian led the River Dogs with two hits, two runs and two RBI.
