WEST MILFORD — The West Milford Health Department, in partnership with Chilton Medical Center, has announced the return of the Wawayanda Walking Club for the spring. Enjoy the beautiful, warm spring air and get some exercise.
Walking has many benefits such as lowering blood pressure, improving cholesterol levels, reducing stress and improving sleep. Individuals of all exercise abilities are welcome to join.
This walking club is free and open to families or individuals in West Milford. The walking club will meet on Friday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m., from March 24 through May 19. There will be no walking club on April 21.
The club meets at Wawayanda State Park, 885 Warwick Turnpike, Hewitt. Participants will receive a walking logbook and health education materials. The goal of the Walking Club is to educate residents on all of the health benefits of walking and make exercise a community event.
This is also a great opportunity to get out and walk with a little one in a stroller - a jogging stroller is recommended.
Pre-registration is required. To register or for questions, call Jessica Kelly, health educator for West Milford Health Department, at 973-831-5455 or email Jessica.kelly@atlantichealth.org.
