The Lady Highlanders lacrosse team beat Passaic Tech in a close 10-9 match on Wednesday.
After going back and forth to start the game and the score tied at 4-4, West Milford scored two unanswered goals to take a 6-4 lead to halftime.
The Bulldogs would score five goals in the second, but it wasn’t enough, as the Lady Highlanders answered with four more of their own for the victory.
Mackenzie Keane led the way with four goals, while Aleah Coscia added three of her own.
Sera Agostinelli, Kari Malatak, and Madison Vacca each had a goal in the match as well.
Going into Wednesday’s contest, West Milford was coming off of a home loss to Wayne Hills.
In that April 17 match, the Patriots scored 10 goals in the first half and the Highlanders were never able to recover.
    The final score was 12-0.
Before the loss, West Milford recorded its first win of the season at home against Saddle Brook.
The Lady Highlanders got off to a good start in the match, taking a 6-2 lead by half.
While the Falcons were able to come back and score six goals in the second half, it wasn’t enough once again, as West Milford tacked on seven more of its own.
    The final score was 13-8.
Keane led the way in that match as well with four goals, while teammates Hope Calamari, Marisa Ehrmann, and Dillen Orsino each scored two goals apiece.
The Lady Highlanders (2-8) are scheduled to travel to Little Falls next on April 26 to play the Hornets.
