Lady Highlanders softball team posts win and loss

The Lady Highlanders lost to Passaic Valley at home on Monday by a final score of 4-0.
Neither team scored a run in the game until the sixth winning, when the Hornets put its first two runs on the board.
Passaic Valley would score two more runs in the seventh on their way to the victory.
Jessica Perucki, Courtney Cienki, and Jessica Reilly each went 1-for-3 for the Lady Highlanders in the losing effort.
Perucki also had 10 strikeouts on her way to pitching the complete game.
The home loss to Passaic Valley followed a big away win over Wayne Hills on April 25. The final score was 13-0.
West Milford got the lion’s share of its total in the fifth inning, when the team scored 11 of its 13 runs.
Kristen Cienki went 1-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs in the win, while teammates Perucki and Mackenzie McGuiness each had two runs and two RBIs.
Courtney Cienki also went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run, while Reilly went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Perucki had 11 strikeouts and allowed just two hits in her five innings on the mound.
The Lady Highlanders (6-7) were scheduled to play Lakeland next at home on May 1.
