Learn to row with the East Arm Rowing Club

The East Arm Rowing Club (EARC) of Greenwood Lake will register participants for its 16th annual Learn-to-Row program and novice sprints Rowing Regatta on Saturday, March 29, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Signups will be at the club's boathouse, located at 69 Sterling Road, in Greenwood Lake. Registrants will be able to tour the recently built boathouse, and will be given a brief introduction to the boats.

The fee of $125 per rower covers six training sessions by experienced coaches. Rowers must commit to the six-week program, and must be available on race day, Sunday, June 1, at 9 a.m. Participants must be 18 years or older, be in good health, be able to swim, and be able to lift 35 pounds overhead. The program is designed for men and women.

On-the-water training begins Sunday, April 20. There will be an optional indoor training session for registered rowers at the West Point boathouse, Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for a nominal fee.
